Wow, sifu’s memory & life makes to silver screen. Yesterday, Malaysia Star newspaper at startwo column had just published about this movie regarding Ip Man, grandmaster of Wing Chun, acted by Donnie Yen. It’s surprising that the Wing Chun fighting style is developed by this woman named Yip wing Chin with the help of a local Buddhist nun, ultimately using it to defeat the warlord. The way Donnie Yen hit the wooden dummy was very fast speed & is a stylish art. Will watch this movie as its stated that the ultimate goal for the movie is not to showcase the Wing Chun fighting style, but to highlight the positive moral values that Ip Man stood for. So have you completely master the Wing Chun fighting style & the wooden dummies technique? I still do not understand why Bruce lee die so earlier & is it really caused by the fighting injuries, internal bleeding, internal sickness or something else? Anyhow, the Kung Fu legend of Bruce Lee still live on…

Hi stella, I studied wing chun for 6 straight years based on hand and wooden staff techniques. I can't say I finished it because one thing about wing chun, at least the way I studied it, is that you discover new techniques as you progress so you never really finish. The wooden dummy - thats the standard tool for training. Great practice for close-range face to face combat.

But the greater lesson of wing chun, for me, is the moral and spiritual aspect of it. I was lucky to have a master that stressed on that. I've met teachers who make a lot of money teaching people how to beat people up. They promote their martial arts schools by the medals they win in competitions in the US, it is big business.

There are many different stories about how Bruce Lee died. Personally I believe it was an internal injury.
